The Geospatial Centroid at Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins, Colorado, is hosting a GIS Day celebration that will involve students, faculty, and business professionals in a variety of GIS-related events. The GIS Day celebration will take place on November 18th, 2015, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm in the Morgan Library Event Hall at CSU. Included in the event will be a Poster Gallery to exhibit the breadth and depth of research and applications of geospatial technologies, Lunch Table Hosts to connect students with practitioners in the field, a variety of short presentations, as well as a keynote lecture on “Designing Useful and Usable GIS and Mapping Technologies.” The Mapathon will take place from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Ramskeller, located in the Lory Student Center on campus. The event is open to the public and attendees should bring their own laptop to participate. The focus of this mapathon will be to use OpenStreetMap to map priority areas in Senegal.
