Mapbox will host a mapathon on November 14, in Ayacucho, Peru to improve the Ayacucho cartography, to spread open source tools that currently have greater importance in the technology industry and expand the OSM community.

Mapbox will be hosting an OSM community mapping party to celebrate OpenStreetMap Geography Awareness Week on November 15, 2015 at their office in Bengaluru, India. Missing Maps is celebrating it’s one year anniversary this month. Newcastle’s first ever Mapathon will be hosted at Newcastle University Students’ Union in association with MSF & Missing Maps on Novemeber, 17 from 6:00 - 9:30pm.

In celebration of OSM GeoWeek, 8th graders at Ho-Ho-Kus Middle School will be participating in a Mapathon on Tuesday, November 17. Some of our 8th grade students are working with a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal. Our map data will be used by the local health system to track incidence of malaria and to improve services for people living with HIV in the city.

The university of Kelaniya has organized a mapathon for Wednesday, November 18th. Students will help to map the area around their university and flood prone areas to the north in the Atanugal Oya river basin. Data from the latter will be used to model flood impacts and plan for flood reduction measures by the World Bank and the Sri Lankan government. Trainers from the World Bank and the Sri Lankan government will be on hand to answer questions and provide advice to the students

The Geospatial Centroid at Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins, Colorado, is hosting a GIS Day celebration that will involve students, faculty, and business professionals in a variety of GIS-related events. The GIS Day celebration will take place on November 18th, 2015, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm in the Morgan Library Event Hall at CSU. Included in the event will be a Poster Gallery to exhibit the breadth and depth of research and applications of geospatial technologies, Lunch Table Hosts to connect students with practitioners in the field, a variety of short presentations, as well as a keynote lecture on “Designing Useful and Usable GIS and Mapping Technologies.” The Mapathon will take place from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Ramskeller, located in the Lory Student Center on campus. The event is open to the public and attendees should bring their own laptop to participate. The focus of this mapathon will be to use OpenStreetMap to map priority areas in Senegal.

In relation to the Geography Awareness Week 2015, the students from University of Gothenburg Applied IT department together with SKIP (The Association for Informatics and Programming) is hosting a short Mapathon at University of Gothenburg Campus Lindholmen for students with various professional backgrounds (from programming and IT to Geography and Environmental Sciences). The event is free, but you need to bring a laptop and a mouse as it will be more comfortable for you to work. The Sri Lankan Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) has organized a Mapathon for Thursday, November 19th. Students will help to map the area around their university. They will be introduced to mapping flood prone areas to the north in the Attanagalu Oya river basin also. University of Exeter Geography Department will be holding a mapathon in celebration of OpenStreetMap Geography Awareness Week on Wednesday, November 18.

The GEOlab (Geomatics and Earth Observation laboratory) of Politecnico di Milano is hosting this mapathon in the frame of the OpenStreetMap Geography Awareness Week. During the mapathon in Milan the staff of GEOlab will introduce the OSM project and train the participants on how to get started on mapping. The focus will be placed on geographical areas and mapping tasks proposed by the HOT and the Missing Maps project. During the mapathon two senior members of HOT will be reached through a Skype call.

Busitema University Mapping Club will be hosting a members mapathon in celebration of OSM GeoWeek on November, 20 2015.

We are organising a Mapping Pub Crawl using Field Papers on Friday the 20th of November, starting at 8PM. Every participant will get a printed atlas from Field Papers (Zagreb area) and visit 4 pubs using different routes and taking notes on the atlas, and at the end of the night atlantes will be collected by the organisers and then uploaded on Field Papers.

Global Shapers Kathmandu are organizing South Asia shape 2015 event in which Kathmandu Living Labs will host 20 participants from South Asia and teach them about the use of mapping technology to build sustainable cities. KLL will organize a geo-caching event where participants will use OpenStreetMap to navigate and collect information about the features while solving clues. This is a closed event.

OSM Madagascar will be hosting a mapathon to celebrate OpenStreetMap Geography Awareness Week in the training room on November 21, 2015 at CIDST Tsimbazaza, Antananarivo, Madagascar. They will work on a task that is to be created.

Missing Maps/American red Cross of Chicago and Norther Illinois will be hosting a mapathon to celebrate OpenStreetMap Geography Awareness Week on November 21, 2015 in Chicago, IL.

There will be a mapathon hosted in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 21st from 1:00 - 3:00pm to map the Rinjani Volcano region. Volcano Rinjani is a massive active volcano which towers over the island of Lombok in Indonesia. Volcano Rinjani is the second highest mountain in Indonesia at 3,726 meters tall. On October 28, 2015 the Gunung Barujari cone of the volcano erupted. The status of Volcano Rinjani is still a Level II (Alert). This volcano is located in densely populated area and therefore in need of mapping.

Peace Corps and the George Washington University Geography Department will host Girl Scouts Gold Awardees for an OSM mapping party. Girl Scouts will receive an OSM training and actively map for Peace Corps projects while learning about OSM in public policy and careers in tech and GIS.

We are a group of students at Makerere University Jinja Campus who participated in the mapping events with @mapuganda and would like to teach OSM to new members, and also do mapping of places in Jinja that are not mapped: to improve the online OSM map.

OSM Benin is one of the active communities in the West African region that creates humanitarian data.

The OSM community in Dar es Salaam Tanzania would like to be part of all the mapathons that will be happening all over the world by organising an event in Dar es Salaam.
